With all the wedding planning, moving, traveling, midwest freeze, etc. known as the craziness of my life since right after my engagement shoot with Sherry and Joey, I am sad to say I fell off the bandwagon for a bit with my photography. THANKFULLY, spring has sprung in my life as well as in the weather outside in my new Iowa home and I am hoping to have some new family/pregnancy/child photo shoots to share with you soon! In the meantime, please enjoy a few shots I took of the adorable children of my friends Stacy and Melissa while enjoying a beautiful say at the park. Melissa's daughter Emerson really understood the meaning of "pose like a model" as you can see! She's the one with the beautiful curly blonde hair. I am hoping to have more pictures of Emerson and Rowan as well as little miss Molly (Stacy's little girl) up soon!

Engagement: Sherry and Joey
While living in Winston-Salem with my awesome roommate Jamie, who worked at Starbucks at the time, I was introduced to one of her co-workers, Sherry, who had recently gotten engaged! Thankfully, Sherry asked me to take some engagement photos of her and Joey. However, before I was able to take them, I got engaged myself and had moved to Durham, NC to search for a job in a new location (to be closer to my soon-to-be hubby). Again, thanks to Sherry's flexibility, we met at Duke Gardens (in my opinion the only redeeming quality of the Duke University campus...seriously. This place is unbelievably gorgeous.) in Durham. We had a blast taking pictures and acting goofy together while surrounded by such beauty! Here are a few of my favorites! (Click the image for the full size photograph.)
Babysitting Capture.
For Mother's Day last year, I helped the sweet girl I babysat for, Leah, create an awesome series of framed pictures for her mom as a surprise! I think I was more excited about this even than Leah, but in the end, I really loved these few shots and had fun doing something sweet for a mom who deserved a treat!

UNC Graduation 2009
As a May 2009 graduate myself, I had the opportunity to capture several of my good friends' graduation photos! I really had a blast taking these and am looking forward to hopefully expanding onto the UNI campus soon with some graduation photo shoots! Let's reminisce together..."In my mind I'm goin' to Carolina...." Oh James, you touch my heart each time.

Engagement: Kristi and JB
Kristi and JB are two long time friends of mine who I cherish dearly. It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since I have taken their engagement pictures! We had a blast running all over Chapel Hill, NC where Kristi and JB both graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. JB was a part of the UNC basketball 2009 National Championship team and has a blingin' ring at home to show for it! What an amazing journey it has been for both Kristi and JB; it was an honor to share in their engagement in this way. Here are some of my favorites! Enjoy!
It Begins!
Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to add my new photography blog to your list! For those of you who do not know me, I am originally just a Southern gal who grew up in a small town known as Hendersonville, North Carolina. Nestled in the mountains of western North Carolina, I believe the beauty displayed in my home town is what has inspired me to continue to try and capture the beauty around us. Disclaimer: I know there are thousands of photography blogs out there. I DO NOT expect mine to be as well put together or as "artsy" as some...yet. As the name suggests, my hope for this blog is that you would grow and be inspired along with me as a photographer as I take this journey into pursuing one of my passions. Please, let me know what you think!! Photography is purely subjective to each eye, and the more eyes caught, the better.
